2008 "Corporate" Changes to our Operation
Reservations Requested - Unfortunately,
or should I say fortunately, BRM is getting too popular and with just Dick and I
(and hopefully Jenny) left to run things, we decided to make some "major corporate"
decisions. Starting in 2008, we will be catering mainly to pre-reserved clientele,
unreserved persons please note, you take your chances as to availability of
services. This includes service in the restaurant, as over the last two
years we have found that we have been catering to more and more large groups
which often necessitated the closing of the restaurant to the general
public. So, if possible, please contact us to make your reservations
for any and all required services, no matter how trivial.
Changes to Restaurant Meals - Starting in
2008, the restaurant at Bear River Mercantile will be serving "Road
House" style meals. This means that there will no longer be a menu
selection available. Each day we will have a specific breakfast and lunch/dinner special
that will be served exclusively all day long. The food will be the same delicious home
cooked meals and our awesome burgers will be available every day!
Payment Procedures
- Due to the high cost of doing business with plastic, Bear
River Mercantile is slowly changing over to good old fashioned paper. Payments
for bookings and services will mainly be accepted as cash, cheques,
travelers cheques and Money Orders. For 2008, VISA and MasterCard will still be
excepted as a last resort.

The Gumboot Chronicles
The Phillips Family of Bear River Mercantile are pleased to be able to share
their lives and stories with the rest of the world. See the Gumboot
Chronicles to view our new letters, stories & pictures from guests
& friends and whatever else we find worth sharing. They don't come often,
but prove to be quite entertaining when they do, so keep looking back for them. If you have anything to
share please pass it on and we will post it here!

I had just finished paddling the circuit of
the Bowron Lakes. I was with my husband and we were both very wet, tired,
dirty and probably stank. But you were very kind to us and I really
appreciate it. We ate lunch and bought some items and were on our way
in much better moods. I just wanted to write and thank you for your
kindness. Heidi and Robert Van
