be offering a 10% Discount on eligible equipment rentals (includes canoes,

Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policies - There have been changes

Bear River Mercantile
Can No Longer Offer Fishing License Sales - Starting in 2009, the
Provincial Government has switched over to internet based "E-Licensing" for
Fishing License sales. Since our internet service is not always dependable we
can no longer guarantee that we can get through on the internet to provide such
Licenses, therefore we decided to drop this service. For more information about
E-Licenses go to Environment Canada's Fish and Wildlife website.
Reservations Requested - Unfortunately,
or should I say fortunately, BRM is getting too popular and with just Dick and I
(and hopefully Jenny) left to run things, we decided to make some "major corporate"
decisions. We will be catering mainly to pre-reserved clientele,
unreserved persons please note, you take your chances as to availability of
services. This includes service in the restaurant, as over the last two
years we have found that we have been catering to more and more large groups
which often necessitated the closing of the restaurant to the general
public. So, if possible, please contact us to make your reservations
for any and all required services, no matter how trivial.
Changes to Restaurant Meals - The restaurant at Bear River Mercantile will be serving "Road
House" style meals. This means that there will no longer be a menu
selection available. Each day we will have a specific breakfast and lunch/dinner special
that will be served exclusively all day long. The food will be the same delicious home
cooked meals and our awesome burgers will be available every day!
The Gumboot Chronicles
The Phillips Family of Bear River Mercantile are pleased to be able to share
their lives and stories with the rest of the world. See the Gumboot
Chronicles to view select letters, stories & pictures from guests
& friends and whatever else we find worth sharing. They don't come often,
but prove to be quite entertaining when they do, so keep looking back for them. If you have anything to
share please pass it on and we will post it here!

Business, land, buildings, gear... the whole kit and kabootle! Please inquire

Front Country Packages, 3 days / 2
nights at Bowron Lake, Arrive in the afternoon of day 1; stay in our cabin,
enjoy dinner and a canoe;
Day 2 starts with breakfast, later dinner, plus a canoe and cabin; Day 3, again breakfast and the use of
the cabin and canoe until you depart at 11:30am. If three days aren't enough,
let us know!! Check it and our other Paddlers Packages out at the

A Paddlers
Package includes 2 nights accommodation & restaurant meals (supplied on the day of your
arrival at Bowron Lake and the day you come off the chain) & canoe
rental all in a convenient package. Youth Group and Vacation Specials
too.
Museum / History Program.
Bear River Mercantile continues it's ongoing work to present the Human
and Natural History of Bowron Lake to area visitors. Schools and youth groups
are welcome as
small groups of supervised students. Supervisors please arrange ahead
for your group to browse through our museum,
explore and learn more about the area. New this year, our wildlife
skull display and an up-dated relief map of the chain of lakes. .

If you want a hassle free and first rate experience on the Bowron Lake
Circuit look no further then Sandy and her family's Bear River
Mercantile. From the cabin when we arrived, the meals provided for the
trip, the food at the lodge, and the shower on our return; everything was
